ERTICO – ITS Europe is a multi-sector, public-private partnership pursuing the development and deployment of ITS. It exists to promote a single successful pan-European ITS market and to ensure that European interests are fully represented throughout the world. With more than 100 partners across the five ITS sectors (public authorities, industry, infrastructure operators, users, and others), ERTICO brings together all key players. ERTICO projects focus on such issues as active safety, telematics services, technology integration, interoperability, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), satellite positioning and navigation and location-based services. A current priority is eSafety, an initiative to improve road safety and help realise the EC’s vision of reducing road casualties by 50% by 2010 through widespread deployment of information, communication and automotive technologies – ITS.

Amadeus SAS Technology provider for the travel industry. The historical activity of Amadeus is a GDS (Global distribution system), connecting providers of the travel industry (airlines, hotels, car renters, …) and the traveller through all distribution channels (direct through web sites, indirect through traditional or online travel agencies). Amadeus builds and operates systems for all these actors.

CERTH – Centre for Research and Technology Hellas is the National Organization devoted to the promotion and execution of Transport research in Greece, forming part of the Center for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH). It is a ‘private status’ legal entity under the supervision of the General Secretariat for Research and Technology of the Ministry of Development. It is based in Thessaloniki, Greece. The basic scope of services of HIT is to provide a centre of excellence in the field of Transport with highly specialized research services offered to government and third party organizations and bodies, and providing support for the conduct of Transport research in Greece. It is also devoted to providing support for the formulation of Transport policy to relevant Ministries and other government bodies.
The scope of services covers all areas of Transport and in particular the organization, operation, planning, construction of infrastructure, standardization, economic analysis, management, vehicle technology, and impact assessment, of land, maritime, air, and multimodal transport services.

DLR is Germany’s national research centre for aeronautics and space. ISMB Istituto Superiore Mario Boella  is a private research centre, with additional industrial partners Motorola, SKF, ST Microelectronics and Telecom Italia. Established in 2000, ISMB is involved in sectors: research, higher education, Technology-to-Business Intelligence and ICT & Society. A particular emphasis is directed towards advanced wireless technologies. ISMB has about 100 researchers working in cooperation with 100 researchers from Politecnico di Torino on photonics, electromagnetic compatibility, wired and wireless networks, e-security, satellite and indoor localization systems, microelectronics and nanotechnologies and multimedia. ISMB has developed several prototypes, including wearable devices for vital signs monitoring and an RFID-and sonic- enhanced stick for blind people.

Vlaamse Overheid, Departement Mobiliteit en Openbare Werken (Dept of Transport) is in charge of policy issues related to Mobility and Public Works in Flanders Region, and assumes the operational management for the road network under control. In the framework of this proposal it is represented by the Traffic Centre Unit, which is in charge of the monitoring and traffic management on the entire road network under the Road Authority’s jurisdiction.
The Unit Traffic Centre, based in Antwerpen, operates the Regional Traffic Control & Information Centre (TCC-TIC). A subunit is dealing with data capturing and validation, and traffic modelling, while another subunit is in charge policy preparation in the field of traffic management scenarios and Telematics services.
The Unit is in charge of realising Flanders’ ambitious plan for a multi modal, fully integrated dynamic traffic management system for the whole of the covered network (950 km motorways and 6500km trunk and secondary roads) – including the principal axes in all major conurbation areas.
